Basketball Recap: Muncie Central Falls Despite Big Games from Lj Strange and Jaxson Johnson

Muncie Central came up into this matchup off a tough 21-point defeat last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Anderson Indians by a score of 59-57 on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (55), the Bearcats still had to take the loss.

Muncie Central's loss came despite strong showings from Jaxson Johnson and Lj Strange. Johnson went 9-for-16 on his way to 21 points, while Strange went 6-for-7 en route to 16 points and six boards. What's more, Strange also posted two blocks, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Terry Miles, who scored seven points.

Muncie Central is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14. As for Anderson, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bearcats duke it out with the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Anderson, they are taking a road trip to square off against Indianapolis Shortridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
