Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Northview's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

There's no place like home for Northview, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Covina Colts an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The result came thanks to Clementina Duran's shutout, as she gave up just six hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Joy Sanchez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Marilyn Sandoval, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Northview has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-6-1 record this season. As for Covina, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-8-1.

Northview will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Colts: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
