Basketball Recap: Valor College Prep Comes Up Short

Valor College Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against the Hume-Fogg Blue Knights, falling 81-34. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-16.

Hume-Fogg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Nwoye out in front who went 9 of 12 on his way to 22 points and three steals. The game was Nwoye's third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alonzo Rhodes, who went 6 for 12 to rack up 14 points along with seven boards and three steals.

Valor College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Hume-Fogg, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 20-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valor College Prep will venture away from home to square off against Glencliff at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Valor College Prep is facing Glencliff at the right time seeing as Glencliff is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Hume-Fogg, they will head out on the road to challenge Maplewood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Hume-Fogg's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
