Soccer Game Preview: Warren County vs. Shelbyville Central

Warren County hasn't had much luck against Shelbyville Central recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pioneers & Lady Pioneers will head out to take on the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

Warren County barely beat DeKalb County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pioneers & Lady Pioneers' defense stepped up to hand the Tigers a 3-0 shutout on Thursday. Give Warren County's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shelbyville Central). They blew past Lincoln County 9-1 on Thursday. Shelbyville Central have beaten Lincoln County the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Lincoln County has come to flipping the script.

Shelbyville Central pushed their record up to 10-3-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Warren County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season.

Warren County might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Shelbyville Central in their previous meeting on April 1st. Can the Pioneers & Lady Pioneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
