Volleyball Recap: Selma Comes Up Short

Selma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Woodlake Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Selma took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 23-25, 22-25, 25-14, 15-12.

Selma's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Woodlake, they moved to 3-7 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Selma wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Roosevelt on the 28th. As for Woodlake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Orange Cove on the 28th.
