The Holmes Aces will venture away from home to challenge the Camden County Bruins at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Holmes is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.2 goals per game this season.

Holmes fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Manteo on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Redskins. Having soared to a lofty nine goals in the game before, Holmes couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Elvis Manzo-Pineda, who's now up to 12 this season.

Meanwhile, Gates County kept up with Camden County until halftime on Thursday, but afterwards: not so much. The Bruins were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Red Barons. Considering Camden County have won eight matchups by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Camden County has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 44 goals over those 12 contests. As for Holmes, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-5-3.

Holmes beat Camden County 2-0 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Aces since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
