Basketball Recap: Troup Piles Up the Points Against Carlisle

Troup won the last time they faced Carlisle and things went their way on Friday too. The Troup Tigers took their contest with ease, bagging a 62-31 victory over the Carlisle Indians. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while the Indians are ranked 1453rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Troup is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points per game. As for Carlisle, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Troup will head out on the road to face off against Arp at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carlisle, they and Cumberland Academy will face off at 12:40 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Carlisle is facing Cumberland Academy at the right time seeing as Cumberland Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
