Baseball Recap: Hanover Park Comes Up Short

After flying high against Morris Catholic on Friday, Hanover Park came back down to earth. The Hornets fell just short of the Oratory Prep Rams by a score of 4-3 on Monday. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Hanover Park has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Oratory Prep, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hanover Park will challenge Butler at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oratory Prep, they will face off against Roselle Park at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
