Basketball Recap: Pahrump Valley Comes Up Short

Pahrump Valley played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Del Sol Dragons and fell 58-29. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Pahrump Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Cartier Jenkins, who posted five points. The dominant performance gave Jenkins a new career-high in points.

Jaeden Alexander was his usual excellent self, going 11 for 20 on his way to 25 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals for Del Sol. The match was Alexander's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kelly Dawson, who scored 12 points along with six assists and five steals.

Pahrump Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Del Sol, they moved to 4-14 with that win, which also ended their eight-game losing streak.

Pahrump Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 46-43 victory against Doral Academy Red Rock on the 31st. As for Del Sol, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 82-57 defeat against Chaparral on the 30th.
