It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Chartiers-Houston ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Union Area Scotties 2-1. The win was familiar territory for the Buccaneers, who have now won seven contests in a row.

Chartiers-Houston's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Union Area, with the loss, they broke their 13-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-2.

Chartiers-Houston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Union Area, they are taking a road trip to face off against New Castle at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Scotties' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hurricanes have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season.
