Football Game Preview: Mechanicsburg Wildcats vs. Waynesboro Indians

The Mechanicsburg Wildcats will head out to face off against the Waynesboro Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mechanicsburg's defense has only allowed 9.1 points per game this season, so Waynesboro's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Waynesboro will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Mechanicsburg extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Wildcats simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Northern York 35-7. The Wildcats' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 49 points the game before, Waynesboro was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell 17-6 to Mifflin County. The contest marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Waynesboro dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Mechanicsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Mechanicsburg took their win against Waynesboro in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 35-13 score. In that matchup, the Wildcats amassed a halftime lead of 21-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
