Preview: Edison Wildcats vs. Southern Indians
Edison is 0-7 against Southern since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Edison Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Southern Indians at 6:15 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Edison's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. The matchup between Edison and Trinity Christian wasn't particularly close, with Edison falling 63-49.
Meanwhile, Southern's 17-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were dealt a 90-26 loss at the hands of David Anderson on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Southern can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 713th, while David Anderson is ranked 65th).
Edison bumped their record down to 2-5 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Southern, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Edison couldn't quite finish off Southern in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 and fell 64-61. Can Edison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
