Baseball Game Preview: Chincoteague Ponies vs. Salisbury Christian

Chincoteague is 6-1 against Salisbury Christian since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Ponies will host Salisbury Christian at 4:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Friday just wasn't the day for Chincoteague's offense. They lost 15-0 to Bennett on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Ponies' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Chincoteague saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brice Luck, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Salisbury Christian also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Greenwood Mennonite on Tuesday, falling 10-0. Salisbury Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chincoteague's loss dropped their record down to 3-2-1. As for Salisbury Christian, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Chincoteague took their win against Salisbury Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 10-2 score. Do the Ponies have another victory up their sleeve, or will Salisbury Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
