Chugiak barely beat West Anchorage the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles an 11-0 shutout on Wednesday. Chugiak got a great performance from Jonah Shearer as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Shearer has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caiden Capozzi, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Pace Newkirk was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
