Chugiak barely beat West Anchorage the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles an 11-0 shutout on Wednesday. Considering the Mustangs have won eight contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chugiak got a great performance from Jonah Shearer as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Shearer has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caiden Capozzi, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Pace Newkirk was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Chugiak always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Chugiak's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for West Anchorage, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5-1.

Coming up, Chugiak will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Lathrop at 7:30 p.m. As for West Anchorage, they will head out to square off against Service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
