Venice had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the Sarasota Sailors on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Venice walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-20, 25-17.

Melissa Apolonio paced Venice's offense, picking up eight kills. Apolonio got some help from Amelia Anselmi and her 27 assists. Ana Julia Villamajor controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Venice didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Braden River on the 21st. As for Sarasota, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Riverview Sarasota on the 21st.
