            Softball Recap: Dearborn Pioneers vs. Melvindale Cardinals        
        
		
        
        
            Dearborn won against Western International  last Friday with 12  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Monday. The Pioneers came out on top against the Melvindale Cardinals by a score of  12-8. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Pioneers.

 Kaitlyn Ruselink was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 16 batters over  seven innings while giving up  six earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than eight  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season. She was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with three  doubles, three  RBI,  and two  runs.
 In other batting news,  Madison Shoff was  incredible,  going 3-for-5 with three  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Isabella Palise, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
Dearborn now  has a winning record of 2-1. As for Melvindale, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
 Dearborn and Melvindale will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Pioneers will  take on  rival Stevenson  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Melvindale is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Redford Union  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
