Basketball Game Preview: Voorhees Vikings vs. Holmdel Hornets

The Voorhees Vikings will face off against the Holmdel Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Voorhees is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since December 19, 2023 on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against North Hunterdon, sneaking past 40-37. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Lions are ranked 198th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holmdel). They came out on top against Shore Regional by a score of 70-57 on Tuesday.

Voorhees is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Holmdel, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6.
