Softball Recap: Wheeling Park's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Logan, Wheeling Park was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the West Muskingum Tornadoes a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Patriots have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Delaney Randolph, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep West Muskingum off the board.

At the plate, Isabelle Thomas was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Bryn Ernest, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

With the victory, Wheeling Park broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-7. As for West Muskingum, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Coming up, Wheeling Park will take on John Marshall at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for West Muskingum, they will face off against Crooksville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Tornadoes have won three straight at home, while the Ceramics won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
