Burlington-Edison has gone 9-1 against Meridian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Burlington-Edison has four straight wins, Meridian has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Burlington-Edison and Lynden Christian, and Burlington-Edison kept the tradition alive. The Tigers came out on top against the Lyncs by a score of 6-1 on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Cody Roetcisoender, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Jakson Granger was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Meridian and Anacortes meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Trojans came up short against the Seahawks, falling 16-4.

Burlington-Edison's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Burlington-Edison couldn't quite get it done against Meridian when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
