Baseball Game Preview: Mills Vikings vs. Terra Nova Tigers

Mills is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Terra Nova is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Vikings will welcome the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games Mills has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Mills gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They won by a run and slipped past Design Tech 6-5. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Aiden Brown and Tino Janke did most of the damage at the plate: Brown went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Janke got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Janke a new career-high.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Terra Nova challenged San Mateo on Thursday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Bearcats with a sharp 12-2 victory.

The team relied heavily on JT Snead, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Brody Finale, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Terra Nova kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.

Terra Nova's win bumped their record up to 17-5-1. As for Mills, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Mills might still be hurting after the 19-3 loss they got from Terra Nova when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
