Softball Recap: Fairfield's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Fairfield had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Flora Wolves by a score of 8-4 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Mules, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Kenry Hutchcraft spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Serenity Dagg was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kayden Wells, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Fairfield's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 7-9. As for Flora, they dropped their record down to 6-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Flora will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Carmel at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairfield will be paying especially close attention to the Wolves' matchup: after the Wolves face off against the Golden Aces, they'll take on Fairfield again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
