It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Carroll had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They skirted past the Westfield Shamrocks 3-2. The victory was just business as usual for the Chargers, who after 35 matches remain undefeated this season.
Bailey Sinish paced Carroll's offense, picking up 28 kills. Sinish got some help from Sophia Gisslen and her 55 assists. Sinish also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Cala Haffner, each putting up two.
Westfield's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Blevins, who had 29 assists and eight digs. Blevins is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 19 games she's played. Kendyl Strack was another key player, getting 19 digs and four aces.
Carroll's win bumped their record up to 35-0. As for Westfield, with the defeat, they broke their 11-match winning streak and moved their record to 26-2.
Carroll didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Crown Point on the 1st. Westfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
