Basketball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

Washington suffered their biggest loss since November 29, 2025 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 71-31 defeat at the hands of the Richwoods Knights. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Panthers' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

The loss snapped Washington's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-4 record. As for Richwoods, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Looking ahead, Washington will be playing at home against Streator at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.08 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Richwoods, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-54 win against Chicago Mt. Carmel on the 31st.
