Baseball Recap: Cedar Comes Up Short

Cedar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Desert Hills Thunder, falling 15-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunder this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 last Tuesday.

Cedar saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Krew Giles, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Cedar's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Desert Hills, they pushed their record up to 20-2 with the win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar will take on Snow Canyon at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Reds' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Desert Hills, they will face off against Virgin Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunder's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
