Baseball Game Preview: Greenfield Knights vs. New Life Camp Storm

The Greenfield Knights will square off against the New Life Camp Storm at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13 runs per game this season.

Greenfield's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Epiphany as Greenfield made off with a 29-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won four in a row.

Zach McKenzie made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Greenfield: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise.

In other batting news, Greenfield got a massive performance out of Garrison Wester, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave Wester a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mack Wiggins, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Greenfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .660. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, New Life Camp had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 6-2 to Faith Christian two weeks ago.

Greenfield's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for New Life Camp, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Greenfield was able to grind out a solid victory over New Life Camp in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, winning 9-6. Will Greenfield repeat their success, or does New Life Camp have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
