After losing to Sandpoint the last time they met, Lewiston decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lewiston Bengals skirted past the Sandpoint Bulldogs 3-2. The three-run effort marked the Bengals' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Jaxon Holthaus looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Lewiston saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was River Stamper, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those hits were Stamper's first of the season.

Lewiston's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Sandpoint, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Lewiston will take on Bishop Kelly at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sandpoint, they will take on Parma in a tournament on Thursday. Parma is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
