Baseball Recap: Chase County Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Chase County and West Franklin meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Bulldogs came up short against the Falcons, falling 13-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 on Thursday.

Chase County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Green, who went 1-for-2 with one run. That run marked the first that Green has scored this season.

Chase County has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for West Franklin, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-1.

Coming up, Chase County will challenge Lebo on Monday. As for West Franklin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crest at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Falcons have won ten straight at home dating back to last season, while the Lancers won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
