Basketball Recap: Morenci Wildcats vs. San Miguel Vipers
The Morenci Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 83-19 victory over San Miguel. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Morenci has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morenci to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elena Leonard, who scored 20 points along with five steals. Leonard has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 20 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Wilson, who scored ten points along with eight assists and four steals.
Morenci has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for San Miguel, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Morenci will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Roughriders at 5:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pima comes in on seven and the Wildcats on three. San Miguel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
