Basketball Game Preview: Straughn Tigers vs. Dale County Warriors

The Straughn Tigers will challenge the Dale County Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Straughn heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Wednesday. They fell 44-33 to Bullock County.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Clark Jordan, who went 5 for 10 en route to 11 points and seven rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's played. Charlie Jordan was another key player, putting up seven points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Dale County had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.7 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They claimed a resounding 62-34 victory over the Warhawks. The game marked the Warriors' most dominant win of the season.

Straughn now has a losing record at 14-15. As for Dale County, they pushed their record up to 15-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Straughn barely slipped by Dale County in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, winning 36-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Straughn since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
