Baseball Recap: Decatur Wins Going Away Against Jefferson

While Decatur didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Jefferson Raiders 12-5 on Friday. The Golden Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

Dylan Reano was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tyler Buol, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Reano wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Decatur kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

Decatur's record now sits at 8-1. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Decatur will have a chance to go back-to-back against Jefferson: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
