League recap: Manatee wins, gets boost in standings

Manatee was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from third to first in 8A District 7. The Hurricanes vanquished Friendship Collegiate Academy 23-13 earlier in the week.

Palm Harbor University took down Clearwater 38-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tyler Kaminski threw for 282 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 26 yards during the win.

The Hurricanes' dynamic duo of Kaminski and Dominic Bonelli proved tough for the Tornadoes to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Jacob Martinez helped Palm Harbor University's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 70 yards.

Bonelli was the best wideout in the league this week as Matt LePain's team bested Donnie Abraham's team. Bonelli tallied 6 receptions for 130 yards.

Kaminski put up the best numbers through the air as the Hurricanes bested the Tornadoes.

Deangelo Reaves was the best running back in the league this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 103 yards as St. Petersburg beat Clearwater. Teammate Darius Miller added to the ground attack by rushing for 10 yards.

6-foot-1 quarterback Kaminski of the Hurricanes is the league leader in passing yards this season with 441. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Kelvin McKnight. The Manatee star has 21 catches for 224 yards.

Palm Harbor University led 8A District 7 in scoring this week by notching 38 points on the Tornadoes. Kaminski in the win.
