Recap: Scott County Cardinals vs. Madison Central Indians
After flying high against the Sayre Spartans back in December of 2023, the Scott County Cardinals came back down to earth. Scott County took a 59-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Madison Central on Saturday. Scott County lost against Madison Central in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 81-35 score last time.
Nataya Strader was her usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with five rebounds for Madison Central. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Strader has scored all season. Cameryn Ridderikhoff was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Scott County now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Madison Central, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Scott County will head out on the road to face off against Frederick Douglass at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison Central, Madison Central and Lexington Catholic will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lexington Catholic is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
