Basketball Game Preview: Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights vs. Coventry Oakers

Exeter-West Greenwich hasn't had much luck against Coventry recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights will venture away from home to take on the Coventry Oakers at 6:30 p.m. Exeter-West Greenwich will be strutting in after a victory while Coventry will be coming in after a defeat.

Exeter-West Greenwich will bounce into Monday's match after beating Central Falls, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Exeter-West Greenwich came out on top in a nail-biter against Central Falls on Tuesday, sneaking past 64-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Scarlet Knights have posted against the Warriors since January 9, 2019.

Meanwhile, Coventry faced Burrillville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Coventry was beaten by Burrillville 62-33. The Oakers just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Coventry's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Exeter-West Greenwich, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

Exeter-West Greenwich came up short against Coventry in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 57-52. Can Exeter-West Greenwich avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
