Basketball Game Preview: St. John's Jesuit Titans vs. Brother Rice Warriors

The St. John's Jesuit Titans will take on the Brother Rice Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with St. John's Jesuit sitting on four straight wins and Brother Rice on 12.

Last Monday, St. John's Jesuit was fully in charge, breezing past Perkins 66-30. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Brother Rice didn't have too much trouble with Central Catholic on Tuesday as they won 82-67. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fourth in Michigan, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 36th in Ohio), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brother Rice pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for St. John's Jesuit, they have also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.

St. John's Jesuit came up short against Brother Rice in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 64-51. Can St. John's Jesuit avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
