Softball Recap: Hudson Wins Going Away Against Gulf

With a playoff win on the line, Hudson rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They blew past the Gulf Buccaneers 6-0. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 5-1 win on April 10th.

The result came thanks to Gracie Gutierrez's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jesse Anderson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bella Veraldi, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Hudson and bumps their season record up to 8-9. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 11.5 runs. As for Gulf, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.

Looking ahead, Hudson will challenge Pasco at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cobras surely won't give up without a fight. Gulf does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
