Mathis waltzed into their match on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Taft Greyhounds. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-2 back in March.
Alyssa Herrera spent all 9.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.
