Soccer Game Preview: King & Queen Central vs. Northampton

The King & Queen Central Royal Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Northampton Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: King & Queen Central has struggled recently with eight losses in a row, while Northampton will arrive with six straight wins.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for King & Queen Central's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of King William on Tuesday. Beyker Gomez was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on his (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Meanwhile, Northampton kept a clean sheet against Windsor last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Dukes with a sharp 8-0 victory. It was an even better day for Luke Jones as he scored three goals for his team.

Northampton's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five matchups. As for King & Queen Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

King & Queen Central suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Northampton in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Royal Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
