League recap: Topeka falls to upstart Manhattan

Manhattan scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Topeka, 27-13. At the time, the Trojans were ranked eighth in the state, while the Indians were 34th.

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Topeka, who took down eighth ranked Topeka, 27-13.

Shawnee Heights' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Thunderbirds feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kyle Geiger has thrown for 434 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Colton Kennedy has 22 catches for 246 yards. Michael Moten leads the league in rushing with 673 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Junction City/St. Xavier takes on Walt Alexander's team. The Bluejays are in fourth place, while the Trojans are in first place.

Manhattan extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Topeka, 27-13. The victory was the fourth in a row for Joe Schartz's team.
