It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Edgewood ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Colerain Cardinals 8-7. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Edgewood pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Colerain, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Edgewood and Colerain are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Cougars will be playing at home against Kings at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Edgewood's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Colerain, they are taking a road trip to face off against Little Miami at 5:00 p.m. on the 27th.
