Basketball Game Preview: Mendon Hornets vs. St. Philip Catholic Central Fighting Tigers

The Mendon Hornets will take on the St. Philip Catholic Central Fighting Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mendon will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Monday, Mendon earned a 36-26 win over Howardsville Christian.

Meanwhile, St. Philip Catholic Central suffered their biggest defeat since December 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Climax-Scotts 63-20. The contest marked the Fighting Tigers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Philip Catholic Central and nudges their season record down to 6-9. As for Mendon, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Mendon couldn't quite finish off St. Philip Catholic Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 and fell 51-48. Can Mendon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
