Baseball Recap: Oakridge Takes Down Trinity Valley in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Oakridge had no problem doing just that on Friday. They put the hurt on the Trinity Valley Trojans with a sharp 12-2 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-3 back in March.

Andrew Nelson was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Oakridge: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 11-12-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Easton Jefferson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Oakridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March.

Oakridge's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-13-1. As for Trinity Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-15.

Oakridge didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-5 victory against Episcopal School of Dallas on the 2nd. Trinity Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
