Valley waltzed into their matchup on Friday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Paducah Dragons 79-34. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 547th, while the Dragons are ranked 1176th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Valley was led to victory by Corbin Taylor and Kanyon Taylor. Corbin dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds, while Kanyon went 7 for 13 en route to 19 points in addition to eight boards and five blocks. Corbin has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tailor Green, who posted five points along with ten boards and five assists.

Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Valley's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 29-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.9 points over those games. As for Paducah, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.

Looking ahead, Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Lorenzo at 1:00 p.m. on February 15th. As for Paducah, they will venture away from home to challenge Booker at 5:30 p.m. on February 15th.
