With a playoff win on the line, Cleveland rose to the challenge on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Topsail Pirates 2-0. Give the Rams' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Cleveland is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Topsail, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.

Looking ahead, Cleveland will face off against Gray's Creek on Tuesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 11.7 runs per game this season. Topsail does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
