Weslaco East skates past Donna North with ease

The Weslaco East Wildcats entered their tilt with the Donna North Chiefs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Weslaco East really took it to Donna North for the full four quarters, racking up a 46-6 win at home. Weslaco East might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three matches by 40 points or more this season.

Alex Martinez was his usual excellent self, rushing for 172 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 163 yards and three touchdowns. Martinez hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games. Jediah Rivens was another key contributor, picking up 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Weslaco East has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 6-5 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.3 points per game. As for Donna North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Weslaco East will head out on the road to face off against Vela at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Vela knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Weslaco East likes a good challenge. Donna North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
