Softball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield blew Mogadore out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Mogadore got their revenge. The Spartans fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Spartans have suffered since April 15, 2024.

Melaena Martin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Peyton Volk was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Springfield's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6. As for Mogadore, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Springfield will challenge Field at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mogadore, they will square off against Rootstown at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
