Basketball Recap: Columbia Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Columbia had no problem doing just that on Friday. They snuck past the Lewiston Bengals with a 68-62 victory. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bengals, too.

Columbia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tavin Jones, who went 8-for-10 to rack up 23 points. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in points. Max Keller was another key player, shooting 63% from the field en route to 18 points and five assists.

Columbia is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Lewiston and nudges their season record down to 20-6.

Columbia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-55 victory against Middleton on the 8th. Lewiston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
