Venice is 8-2 against Braden River since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Indians will look to defend their home field against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Venice is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Braden River is facing Venice at the wrong time: Venice suffered their first home loss of the season on Thursday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell just short of the Sentinels by a score of 4-3.

Jayde Neptune spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Venice saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Raionna Smith, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Braden River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 16-6 to Palmetto.

Braden River's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Venice, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.

Venice took their victory against Braden River in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 19-0 score. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
