Basketball Recap: Malia Haney's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chapel Hill over Central Gwinnett

Chapel Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Central Gwinnett Black Knights, falling 66-40. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 63-54 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2016.

Chapel Hill lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Malia Haney, who posted 11 points and three steals. London McClure was another key player, putting up seven points and eight rebounds.

Chapel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Central Gwinnett, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-7.

Chapel Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central Gwinnett, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-42 victory against Discovery on the 8th.
