Basketball Game Preview: Mamou Demons vs. Bunkie Panthers

The Mamou Demons just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Bunkie Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Wednesday, Mamou had to suffer through a 65-29 loss at the hands of Pine Prairie.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Friday. Bunkie was beaten by Buckeye 46-13. While losing is never fun, Bunkie can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Buckeye is ranked 62nd).

Mamou's loss dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Bunkie, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Mamou, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-30 loss to Bunkie in their previous matchup back in February of 2021. Can the Demons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
