Basketball Recap: Timothy Christian Takes a Loss

Timothy Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 41-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Montini Catholic Broncos. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while the Broncos are ranked 206th).

When it comes to explaining why Timothy Christian lost, don't look at Marc Gamble. Despite the final result, he posted nine points and eight boards. Gamble has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.

Timothy Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Montini Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-10.

Timothy Christian has already played their next matchup (against Bishop McNamara), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Montini Catholic will face off against Saint Ignatius College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saint Ignatius College Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Montini Catholic likes a good challenge.
